Updates For The XP Deus: Version 5.0 And Three New X35 Coils! (New from XP Detectors)
Greetings, friends!
Yesterday, on the official site of XP Detectors, they posted news about the upcoming new version of the update V5 (5.0) and the release of three new coils labeled X35. But what does this mean? Let’s look at it in order.
3 new X35 coils
It seems like the era of black coils, which have been produced for more than 10 years, is coming to an end, they will be replaced by the new X35. The form is the same (9 “, 11” and 13 “), it’s only interesting if the battery will be inside the coil or like with the HF coils – in the bar? To this, we will have an answer very soon.
Now the new X35 coils have 5 fundamental frequencies each with 7 offsets: from 3.7 to 4.4 kHz, from 7.1 to 8.4 kHz, from 10.5 to 12.4 kHz, from 15.2 to 17, 8 kHz and from 23.5 to 27.7 kHz. That is, we can now put the frequency of 11 kHz, for example, or 25 kHz, slowly shifting the frequency towards the one we need. Theoretically, this should help us better avoid interference from EMI and other metal detectors. In addition, the coil function “TX power” is now available for each frequency and coil.
Two modes of operation at low frequency is a pleasant function – you can use the Boost mode at frequencies 3.7-4.4 kHz (standard mode is also available), which will allow you to detect large metal and medium/large copper/silver coins deeper. Naturally, the Boost function will only work on normal soils with low mineralization, but this mode will consume more energy (the battery time can be reduced to 6 hours).
To work with the Boost function, it is recommended to use larger coils – 11″ and 13″, for example.
The total operating time of the coils is increased by 10% -40%, depending on the frequency used.
The new coils will go on sale very soon, and from September 2018 all sets of metal detector XP Deus will be equipped with them.
I wonder what the coil owners who bought them this summer will do? I mean old models that are quite expensive. Theoretically, we should get the XP Deus a little cheaper, which means there will be a chance to take an additional coil at an excellent price!
New coils will only work with the version of Deus 5.0.
We can say that now the XP Deus can operate at 35 frequencies (5 frequencies with 7 offsets each), but will this result in more finds?
Many diggers would like to see multi-frequency in the XP Deus, but the main question is – what kind of bonus gives multifrequency to a metal detector? And is it necessary? Will it be advisable to work for XP on this technology, if the court with Minelab is still ongoing and not finished?
What’s new in the version 5 (5.0)?
Now let’s see what’s new in version 5. The update is designed, of course, to work with new coils X35 and brings several bonuses to the owners of Deus sets without a control unit.
Now with the WS4/WS5 headphones, you can control the following settings:
- – Speed
- – TX Power
- – Automatic ground tracking
- – Frequency offset (35 frequencies with the new X35)
- – Iron volume
- – Sound response
In fact, the control unit is not needed anymore, it will be enough to have the headphones and the more or less serious settings can be changed with their help, this is good news for all diggers, especially those who were always skeptical about the cheapest set of the XP Deus – 9 “coil + WS4 headphones.
Such news was brought to us by XP.
Are you satisfied or were you expecting more/other/better things? If yes, then what?
Multi frequency helps with the salt water environment. Single frequency go nuts when submerged in salt water. I read the new settings that will be able to be done with the 5.0 update for the ws5 and ws4 headphones. Would be very nice to have single number notching abilities to eliminate unwanted targets instead of just 0 to 99 on the headphones. Lastly it would be nice to be able to do updates without the remote.
Well, for example with the new Garrett AT MAX single freq and ground balancing works just very fine in every soil we’ve tested it!
And yes, with settings on headphones it is just a great idea, but I think that it is going to be realized on not to the easy manner, will need to push and press all buttons most likely.
I hope it has an ID Norm setting. I was very disappointed with HF elliptical coil that this option is not available.
