Minelabs war against XP Detectors – will they survive? (And Depar Detector +, facts)
The French XP Detectors company has a hard life. Minelab, a leading company for more than a decade on the market, are threatening the XP Deus company.
XP Detectors and their partner in the United States started stealing technology from the Australians, and it seems like they are beginning to suffer. And not only they, but also their distributors. We have written about how all this started in this article: Did XP Detectors steal technology from Minelab? (facts, proof+)
Now the story has gone even further. The guys from XP Detectors decided to go the easy way, and together with its distributor Depar Detectors, they simply rebranded the metal detector XP Deus and released it under the name Depar DPR 600. Straight up a Chinese name if you ask me.
It’s funny that its price is only $ 680 – and now compare it with the price of the XP Deus. As you can see, the prices are similar to those for the kit rod + reel + block, but the Depar included cheap Chinese headphones .
Sly Chinese move!
But Minelab also stopped them here – Depar got left without the supplyment of Minelab! What does this mean? This means that minelab completely deleted Depar from their partners. Here is the Proof about this.
It seems that if Minelab won the case against XP Detectors, they may be left without XP Deus! The happening with Depar is a reminder to the rest of the distributors that at any moment Minelab can work with their rivals and leave them without supplies of metal detectors.
And is it worth it to copy technology from other detectors? As we can see, it can bring you some very big “consequences”! 🙂
