Svarog 106 – Universal Wireless Headphones For Any Metal Detector! Our Review!

Perhaps it is impossible to underestimate detecting in headphones, this is exactly the rule that is learned over the years of detecting, and if one of you still thinks that headphones for detecting are garbage, then give me your “empty” detecting spots and I will go there with pleasure, in headphones! New finds are guaranteed, the only question is their number.

Since the beginning of this year, the manufacturer of metal detectors and accessories, the company Svarog, has been offering its universal headphones Svarog 106 at a great price. The question here is not even so much in price, because it is ridiculously cheap (about 68€ or 77$).

If to this day, we mostly had more expensive solutions (top-end Garrett Z-Lynk), or moderately cheap (Deteknix), then you can always go to a completely budgetary level, which will not hit just as hard as the above solutions.

All metal detectors, at the moment, have a headphone jack. The connectors differ, of course, in some models and exclusively theirs, but in general, 95% of popular metal detectors can use these headphones! This is the most important bonus.

I tested the Svarog 106 headphones together with the metal detector Garrett ACE 300i. This is a detector that I borrowed from a friend, and he loves to dig war relics and the beach, an interesting combination. And so I borrowed it for the duration of my short vacation. In the forests, there is still snow, as you can see, but it’s still great to walk in the spring forest with the ACE, listen to signals, dig up all sorts of stuff, and at the same time see how these new headphones behave.

They work using the transmitter (above in the photo) and the receiver (the headphones themselves). The main thing in digging headphones is the signal transmission rate, so that there is no delay and, we can safely say, no delays have been identified in these headphones. The human hearing is also not perfect, fortunately, and therefore there is no point in measuring the speed of the delay – if it is imperceptible and the headphones give a signal in place when the coil is in the center of the find, then what else is needed?

Another main feature of these headphones is in the most transmitted signal. What is it expressed in?

Everything is simple – very often on cheap wireless headphones, the signal is transmitted only at the peak of its climax. That is if the signal is weak (quiet), or the find has only fallen into part of the field of view of the coil, then there is no signal. And I noticed this with many cheap headphones and therefore did not use them. It is safe to assure that with the Svarog 106, such problems do not exist. You can hear both a quiet signal and a weak increase in the signal from the find to its most active peak when the signal is strongest. Exactly the same transition is heard when the coil is already diverted from the target to the side.

The headphones themselves sit comfortably and firmly on the head and ears, they do not fall down when you have to bend over and dig/search. That is also a very important factor. The sound quality is acceptable, it does not cause disgust, but you cannot call it perfect. But do not forget that the metal detector is not a professional sound or musical instrument to transmit sound in first-class quality. For example, it does not make sense to use headphones from Bose or Sennheiser with metal detectors.

So, what can be summed up on these headphones?

They are universal and come complete with a transmitter and an adapter from the small to the large connector – this is a plus.

There is no delay – this is a plus.

There is no sound interruption during increasing/decreasing of the signal – this is a plus.

The batteries last for a long time (12 hours exactly) – this is a plus.

They are light and comfortable, there is a volume setting – this is a plus.

They are cheap – this is a big plus.

What else do you need? With such advantages, it makes no sense to look at the small minuses, they will all be immediately and greatly outweighed by the bonuses from the headphones and the joy of them.
